HIGH SCHOOL CHOICE TRANSFER PERIOD FEBRUARY 13, 2017 to FEBRUARY 24, 2017
Application Process: Applications for High School Choice transfers must be completed, notarized and postmarked between February 13, 2017 and February 24, 2017. MAIL TO: Student Assignment Office, WS/FCS P. O. Box 2513 Winston-Salem, NC 27102-2513 Parents may request a Choice transfer to any high school except the following magnet schools: Atkins, Kennedy, Paisley, Parkland, Reynolds or the Winston-Salem Preparatory Academy. Some high schools have more space available for the 2017-18 school year than others. The postmark date determines the order of preference for the space that is available. Parents will receive notification of the decision by mail around March 6, 2017.
Conditions applicable to Choice transfers: Students granted a Choice transfer must: - Provide their own transportation. - Reside in Forsyth County. - Comply with Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools' Attendance Policy and Regulations, AR5110. - Exhibit exemplary conduct and maintain passing grades. Choice transfers are for a minimum of one school year and are valid for the remainder of high school, but students who do not comply with the above conditions may be re-assigned to their residential school at the end of the school year.
